Questions, answered
Clear answers based on the ZB-21 product manual and verified product details.
Q1: What type of water is recommended? Can I add milk, juice, or other beverages to the water tank?
Do not use pure water with this machine; mineral water is reommended. Please refrain from adding any beverages other than plain water. Liquids such as milk or fruit juice can easily clog the water pump and shorten the machine's service life; furthermore, their ingredients may accumulate, form scale deposits, or even compromise the internal water circulation system.
Q2: Can heat-generating devices, such as ovens or microwave ovens, be placed near the machine?
It is not recommended to place heat-generating devices—such as ovens or microwave ovens—in the vicinity of the machine. Such heat sources interfere with the intake of cool air through the machine's air vents, thereby compromising the system's heat exchange efficiency. Excessively high ambient temperatures or high humidity levels may negatively impact ice-making performance and also cause the ice cubes to melt more rapidly.
Q3: Can the machine be left running continuously?
Generally, it is recommended to turn the machine on and off as needed, switching it off when not in use. This facilitates easier daily management and helps reduce unnecessary operational strain.
Q4: Does this machine require regular cleaning?
Yes, it does. Regular cleaning helps maintain the machine's performance and ensures internal hygiene. To ensure optimal ice-making results and minimize the accumulation of limescale and impurities, we recommend cleaning the unit periodically based on your usage frequency. If the machine is used frequently, we suggest cleaning it at least once a week. Failure to clean the machine for extended periods may lead to: limescale buildup, water pump blockages, internal odors, reduced ice-making efficiency, and abnormal machine operation.
Q6: Can the ice maker be placed upside down?
Do not turn the ice maker upside down. If the ice maker has been turned upside down, place it upright and let it stand for at least 2 hours before turning it on.
Q7: Can the ice maker be moved from outdoors to indoors?
Yes, it does. If the ice maker is moved from outdoors to indoors during winter, please wait several hours until the ice maker reaches room temperature before plugging it in and turning it on.
Q8: How do I clean the ice maker?
Before cleaning, unplug the ice maker and disconnect the power. Regularly clean the interior, water tray, water tank, evaporator, and other components using a diluted solution of water and vinegar. Do not spray the machine directly with chemicals or solvents, such as acids, gasoline, or oil. After cleaning, rinse all cleaned areas thoroughly with fresh water before using the ice maker again. For safety, do not use flammable liquids when cleaning the appliance.
